WELCOME TO THE HOMEPAGE OF
THE KENT COMMUNITY TIMEBANK!

If you are not yet a member of the Kent Community TimeBank, you will only have access to this homepage!  This website is strictly an accounting and message system for those members of KCTB.   If you are not yet a member, you may click on the tab to the right called "Create an account".  After you fill out the online application, follow the instructions and our Membership Coordinator will be in touch with you!

Before being activated in the timebank, we ask that you attend an orientation which will give you the opportunity to learn more about the concept of timebanking in general and specifically, how our KCTB operates.  You will also get a chance to see this software before diving in!  If you are unable to attend the orientation, we offer one on one, either in person, or over the phone orientations!

We are a community building program where we exchange our skills, talents and passions.  When you do something you like to do for someone for one hour, you earn one Time Credit.  You may then spend that Time Credit on any of the hundreds of services offered in our TimeBank!  We opened our timebank in April, 2010 and continue to grow weekly!  We welcome you to join our timebank family and enrich your life one hour at a time!   To learn more about timebanking in general, visit TimebanksUSA.org

Join other members at our monthly potluck and social!
Next up are Sunday, May 19th in Twinsburg at the Twinsburg Community Center and Friday, June 7th,  at the UCC in
Kent!

Research shows that we are more likely to make timebank exchanges with community members we have met face to face! The monthly potluck is the place to do it! We always have an amazing buffet complete with meat, vegetarian, raw and macrobiotic dishes!   Please label your dish with ingredients.  Sometimes, we discuss a few minutes of "business", spotlight some members and their offers and/or talk about the benefits of timebanking! The potlucks will inspire you, I guarantee it!

For Kent, the potlucks are always the first Friday of every month at the United Church of Christ in Kent Ohio (1400 E. Main Street, Kent, Ohio 44240 - park and enter in the back) at 6:30 pm!  You do not have to be a member to attend the potlucks and you can retroactivate your Time Credit for bringing a dish!

Because our Twinsburg community is still new, the potluck dates are revolving.  Check back here or on the calendar for the upcoming dates.  Currently, they are being held at the Twinsburg Community Center all the way in the back.

We are THRILLED to announce that
the Kent Community TimeBank now has its own store:
hOUR Share Exchange Center!

It is open to members and the general public! All items are new or like-new, as well as handmade/crafted/grown goods donated by KCTB members and the community. Goods can be exchanged for time credits or bought with a cash donation. All donations to the center go towards operating costs, and all donations are tax deductible (receipts available on request).

The store is located at 223 N. Water St., Kent, in the gorgeous old Carriage House. This was Dr. GreenBee's first store location and is across the alley from Scribbles.

For more information, including guidelines for donations and hours of operation, please visit the center's website at http://hoursharekent.wordpress.com/
Please fill out an application if you're interested in staffing the center! Applications can be found on this page: http://hoursharekent.wordpress.com/staff/
